DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Falling into Peace

The world may be falling to pieces around me; but what I feel is peace from Jesus! I took some time today to get outside, with the kids, and we all breathed in the fresh air of Autumn. We are expecting our first winter weather storm tomorrow, so I thought I better get out there and take some Fall pictures, before Fall falls away with the weight of the snow and ice!

It was a breathtaking crisp and colorful day.

There is nothing that brings me more peace, than being outside in nature.

Especially on a day, like today.

It seems to me if more people spent time outside in nature -- connecting with Heaven -- the world would not be as conflicted, controversial, and filled with chaos. Just look at how all of the different aspects of nature work together to make a diverse and colorful world of resplendent glory! God loves diversity in His creations, and in His children. If only we could all see the beauty in all of God's children; His children are as diverse and glorious as the radiant colors of Autumn, and He wants it that way.

He loves us that way!

I find that the Internet may be filled with commotion and contention; but outside my front door, there is community, compassion, and caring people all around. The more I focus on what is actually happening around me -- rather than focusing on what the media says is happening -- then I find a greater sense of peace and tranquility in the world, and its beautiful people. At the end of the day, when all of the current politicking and pestering is over, we will still have to live our regular family lives, regardless of Presidents, policies, and pretension.

I, for one, do not have the desire to fill myself with rage and contention over the current state of the world.

Do you know why?

Because I want to live a long happy life.

And life is too short to fill it full of frenzied, fanatical, firestorms of friction against friends, family, and even foes.

Peace is what I seek.

Peace is what I fight for in my daily life.

And that peace is found only in Jesus!

I want to live my life fighting for peace; rather than just fighting to fight, and living in fear.

This political year, I have laid down any weapons of war.

I want peace.

No matter who wins the current election, my fight for daily peace will not change.

My efforts to seek Jesus will not be altered.

It is the Savior in whom I try to follow, and He is the only leader I am willing to truly fight for.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

I am so grateful for this glorious world we live in! I am so grateful to Jesus for creating it for us. I am so grateful for His peace.

His peace transcends all of the problems that exist in the world.

In Jesus I trust.

Here are some pictures from this absolutely beautiful Autumn day...
