DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

The Benefit Concert: Oklahoma and Carousel

The kids had their benefit concert. It was a fun couple of nights full of music, and acting. The whole week was devoted to preparing for the event, and when it finally came, Sammi and Daniel were so excited. They both live and breathe music. It is a blessing, really. It is such a gift to have music in the home, and to take that music out and share it on the stage every now-and-then.

I will post video another time, because it will take some time to go through it all. Sammi was Lori from Oklahoma, and Daniel had a duet from Carousel. This was a junior high performance, and unfortunately our junior high does not have a proper stage. Next year Sammi will go to high school, and then the real fun begins!

Sammi and Daniel both did a nice job at their performances. They made me smile. I am just so happy that they have found something they love so much, and are willing to share their joy in front of other people. We are given talents so we can share them, and enrich the lives of others. It is very energizing to do what you love. The kids were on a performance high for a few days. When it was all over they were both exhausted completely. I am exhausted too. Watching my children perform gives me more butterflies in my stomach than if I perform myself! Whew!

Here are some pictures from the show...
