DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Halloween Decorations

I enjoy Halloween. I am not one who enjoys the creepiness of it, or the really gross decorations that can be seen lurking about. But I do love to make Halloween cute and fun for our family.

This year I decided to really go for it. We created our very first Halloween Christmas Tree. It was inspired by my love of the Disneyland Haunted Mansion. I used that as a guide for what I wanted to create.

If you have ever been able to go to Disneyland during the holidays, you know that the Mansion is fantastically decorated in both Halloween and Christmas decor. The Mansion is really a sight to behold. I could just sit in front of it and stare at it all day... and especially at night, when the lights go out, and the glow of Holiday magic is in the air.

I wanted to bring that same glow into our home... the same magic.

I love it!
We decided to take some time to do Halloween crafts. The Young Women in our ward made these cute mason jars, and Sammi taught us how to do them at home. They were so fun! We got all the things we needed from the Dollar Store... all of the tree decorations were from the Dollar Store too.
That is Henry's pumpkin... it is so beautiful. :)
We really had so much fun together.
I never want life to get too busy to spend time together, doing the simple, joyful, things. If we do not make time for such moments, they will just pass us by and be gone.
Tissue paper and Mod Podge on a Mason Jar.
You can create all sort of things. (We used Construction paper too.)

We also made some decorations for the tree, using the same supplies from the mason jar activity. They turned out really cute. Sammi created them...

I also made an Autumn tree... just for fun.
Life is short. Enjoy it. Take the time to bring magic into your home! It is worth it.
