DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Empty Slats Filled

I have begun filling the empty slats above my bunk bed. I must say, I adore this idea. I love it. I mean, I really love it! It is almost crazy how happy it makes me!

When I go to bed at night, and wake-up in the morning, I have my very favorite quotes smacking me right in the face! (Sometimes literally, if I am not careful moving my head!) It has been very inspirational to have these quotes constantly swirling around in my mind.

Sammi and I have been working hard trying to gather the best quotes we can find. She also helps me write them. (Which is no easy task -- your arms can go numb writing above your head!) The bunk bed will be hers when we are through using it, so she is eager to help. I love her help. It has been fun to do this together.

By gathering all of my favorite quotes into one place, I have begun to form a better understanding of who I am, and what causes my heart to feel, and stir. It has been kind of interesting, and it has lead me on a sort of self-discovery journey. (Who knew sleeping in a bunk bed would help me figure myself out?!) Crazy.

The things that are churning around on the inside of me are made manifest in the quotes that inspire me.

These are the quotes I have gathered so far . . . read them, and know me better.

  2. Your timing with this post is impeccable. I was asked to give a talk next Sunday on "enduring to the end" and I see lots of great quotes to choose from to enhance my ideas.
You should market this idea. It is great!

  4. There's one by Albert camus that I love. "In the midst of winter, I finally learned that there is in me an invincible summer." Or something really close to that. Pres. Monson likes it too: he quoted it on conference once. :)
