DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Random Life

It is time for a random life update... this will be really random and out of order, because it's summertime!

We traveled to Utah for my cousin's wedding, and we had a wonderful time. My brother kept taking random pictures of me and Kary...
It is summertime, and sometimes you have to get creative and come up with your own fun things to do. Here the kids are playing Lego hide-and-seek. They pulled out a bunch of their sets, and then they took turns hiding the Lego guys. They played for hours. It seemed pretty entertaining.
This little guy showed up in our front yard a few days ago. I heard a weird shrieking noise and found this new friend strutting in the bushes.

My wild flowers are growing! I threw out a bunch of seeds in the early summer and now they are beautiful...

It is so colorful, I love it! I love it so much I cleared out part of my side yard and threw out a bunch more wildflower seeds, we will see how they turn out.

Enjoying a little quiet color time. Sammi loves art and being creative.
It was so nice to be there for my cousin's wedding. She was married in the Timpanogos temple. It was a beautiful ceremony and a beautiful day surrounded by family.
The temple is the best. I love going there often. It makes me happy.
This is my sister Kary, and my cousin Kellie. She was a beautiful bride.
 Family waiting outside the temple
We had a great 4th of July. We spent it with our friends in our traditional spot in the foothills.
 There was a beautiful sunset

It was a fun evening of fireworks and friends
We went back to their house and had some more fun

More pics from the wedding day, I know, random...
 Being silly with my sister
We went out to eat dinner with my Uncle Kent, he is my dad's brother. We ate at Thanksgiving Point, it was a really great time. So nice to connect with family.
 Crazy hair day
My kids are almost as tall as me, just a few more inches.
 Silly faces
Daniel graduated from elementary school and is ready for junior high. He got the Presidential award for his straight A's. He also got the 100 miler award for running in the running club at lunch. I think his most favorite award was for most outstanding band student. He was super excited about that. He loves music. Next year he will be doing both band and choir too! Whew! He is at Scout Camp this week to enjoy some serious fun.
The drive home from our Sawtooth's camping trip -- it was so pretty
 Staying cool in the heat!
I gave all the kids haircuts for summer...
William before he broke his arm... his cast comes off this week!

It is so fun to have 2 kids in the youth program at church, they are growing so fast!
Daniel ready for some serious church business. He is taking his laptop to church for the Indexing challenge the youth are participating in. The kids are doing awesome.
I was called to teach, "Teaching, No Greater Call," at church. It has been really good for me, because as the teacher, I get to learn so much. Love it!
Sammi relaxing in the yard while reading
This is a great book... you should read it.

Silly Henry
Look mom! Birds at the bird feeders! It said it might take a month for them to find it, and it did. Birds come often to feast on the yummy seeds.
Sammi doing a little Indexing...
A beautiful sunset during my nighttime run
Cheese!
Tickling Henry
Hanging out in the pool, just need to add water
 Doing some arts and crafts
Our swamp cooler was broken and it was hotter than heck in our house. We had a window unit, and fans, but it still was 95 degrees inside the house! Eek!
This is the car my dad rented for me and my sister to drive to Utah. He wanted us to be safe. We had a BLAST driving it, it was super fun!
William gave it a thumbs up!
Here we are at my Nan's house. She is the best. We love to visit with Nan. At one point William said,  "Can everyone get out of here? I want to be with Nan." He just wanted one-on-one time with her, he loves her so much.
 Kary and Nan
 Me and Nan
Family :)
 Kary and Kellie
Mindy (my sister-in-law) asked Kary if she could get her something from the store. Kary said, "Something cold." Mindy came back with this special drink that just happens to be Kary's favorite. Kary was shocked and super excited. :) Way to be inspired, Mindy!
 Playing by the river
And the most beautiful picture of all... we got a new AC unit! Our home is now heavenly cool. In the 7 years we have lived in this house, it has never been this pleasant in the summer. So the tragic loss of the swamp cooler led to something even better. That is how life works sometimes... the rainbow comes after the rain.
