DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Mount Up With Wings As Eagles

I am learning what it means to wait upon the Lord. It is never easy to be patient when there are things -- even righteous things -- that my heart desires. I am learning what it means to trust God, and His timing. He really knows what is best for me, and my family. I would do well to lean on Him, and not my own weak and narrow understanding.

As I learn to wait upon the Lord, I do find that I receive renewed strength. I love the scripture in Isaiah 40:31 (view scripture above). To "mount up with wings as eagles" allows such beautiful imagery and hope. As I trust in God, I give Him the power to lift me up. I can be lifted far beyond the heights that I can even imagine for myself.

My family theme for this year is:

Lift.

When I read the scripture in Isaiah, it really spoke to my heart for many reasons. I especially love the idea of being able to run and not be weary... wouldn't that be nice? :)

Elder Uchtdorf gave a great talk called, "On the Wings of Eagles."

He said: "The Psalmist sets the goals even higher: “Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul” (Ps. 25:1) and “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help” (Ps. 121:1). He invites you to fly with the eagles, not to scratch with the chickens."

I love that!

Spread your wings, and let God lift you up.
