DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Please Help Me with my Playlist

I am trying to build a running playlist. As my runs get longer, I rely more and more on peppy music to keep me going. I am trying to put together a playlist that I can use on marathon day. I need a list of about 5 hours worth of songs. I currently just listen to music on my phone using Pandora, but that is so random, and I often have to change the songs because they are not the best.

I am also looking for a great pair of running headphones. I don't normally use headphones, the ones I have just don't stay in well. I am not a fan of having a lot of extra stuff dangling on me while running -- the less gadgets and extra stuff the better -- but music is going to be a must, and I need to start practicing wearing headphones... any recommendations?

Here are the songs I want on my playlist... but I need more.

  1. Fight Song (to be played multiple times!)
  2. Stronger
  3. Roar
  4. Brave
  5. Never Gonna Let you Down
  6. Let it Go
  7. Beautiful Soul
  8. Happy
  9. Best Day of My Life
  10. What makes you Beautiful
  11. Firework
  12. Gotta Keep your Head up
  13. Who Says
  14. The Climb
  15. I Do
  16. Brighter than the Sun
  17. Nothing Ever Happens
  18. Walking on sunshine
  19. Lemonade
  20. Shake it off (Alex Boye)
  21. Overcomer
  22. Never Gonna Let you Down

If you know of any great songs, I would love to hear them. The music doesn't have to be super intense, I just like a good steady beat, and words that are uplifting and motivating. You can kind of get a feel for what I am looking for, by what I have listed.

I need more songs, but I don't want to dig through the garbage songs to try and find good ones.

What songs do you recommend? Do you have any favorites?
