DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

The Season of Light

I love that Christmas time is a season of light. A magical glow fills the air, and invites a special spirit into the heart -- the Christmas Spirit, the Christ Spirit. I find myself drawn to the light, I love to just look at it. And now I love to capture it, if I can, with my camera, so I can save it and remember it.

We put up our tree the other night. We love to have a real tree in our home. I love the smell, and the fullness of a real tree. It is always fun to go to a lot and pick out just the right one. We found a beauty this year, just the right size!

Adding to the ambiance this year is our "Fake Fireplace". We found it at Costco, and it is awesome because it is also a space heater. The kids love to sit right next to it to do their homework. It completes the magical feeling in the room.

This picture makes me think of my favorite Disney Chip and Dale cartoon, when they are walking in the Christmas tree.

I think the nativity pictures are my new favorites that I have taken.

Did I mention I love being a Mormon? I love The Book of Mormon. It is precious to me.

I love reading The Book of Mormon everyday, but it seems to come alive for me this time of year. The pages seem to glow. In a world filled with confusion, it is so refreshing to read truth! Love it!

Enjoy the Light of the Season!

  1. I am so glad you are using the decorations. Your tree looks fantastic and so does everything else. I look forward to all the pictures. There are such memories connected with all of our Christmas things (meaning: they belong to all of us) and I am really enjoying the way you are "looking" at them. Please keep the season pictures coming. Missing all of you this year but we get to spend our time in the most amazing source of light I know. Love, Mom
