DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Let Your Light Shine!

Last night we learned about light. We learned about the Light of Christ, and our responsibility to share it with the world. As the world turns to darkness, it will become even more crucial for those with light to let it shine!

We sat out on the trampoline -- which has become an awesome family gathering place -- and we had Family Home Evening outside in the dark. We used glow sticks (that were left on our front door as a gift) as an example of letting your light shine.

There was a glow stick for each child. I handed each child a dark glow stick, and asked them how they would share their light. William said he would be helpful. Daniel said he would be awesome. Sammi said she would sing. Henry said, "Gimme that!" The glow sticks were dark until they activated them, and each child released their light to fight the darkness. They each had a different color -- a different way to share their light.

I think, sometimes, we do not believe we have light powerful enough to share. That is simply not true! God wants us to share our light! We all have been blessed with the Light of Christ within us, and we have all been blessed with different talents, abilities, and a variety of ways to share that light. There is no such thing as a light too small to share. You never know when your little light might change the world! You never know when your light might be that spark of happiness for others.

Think about what you can do to share the Light of Christ... then share it!

  1. I like that saying.
Glad the trampoline is being used so well. After 4 hours you'd hope so right?
