DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

My Dad's Love Language

One of my dad's love languages is gift giving. Of course, he is a complex being, with more than one way to express his love; but it is a fact that my father loves to provide gifts for those he loves. Just ask my mom. Sometimes the gifts come in packages, and other times he shows his love by providing exciting and spiritual experiences.

The picture above is a perfect example of how my dad shows his love.

We were out as a family in San Diego, just enjoying the night, walking around down by the ocean. My dad happened to come across this beautiful Cinderella carriage. He thought it looked fun, so he talked with the driver, and spontaneously arranged for us to go for a ride.

We all loaded up in the carriage, and traveled the San Diego streets in royal fashion. While on the fairytale journey, we all sang Christmas carols, and just enjoyed an enchanting evening together. My dad's generosity and spirit of adventure provided a beautiful moment for our family that we all cherish.

It is one of those magic moments forever etched in my memory.

This is just an example of how life has been living with my dad. He loves to take us places, and provide fun and enjoyment for all. He is a deeply spiritual man, but when I think of him, I think of all the fun times we have enjoyed together. Those family trips and vacations fill valuable space in my memory. The car is a great place for deep conversations too, which, you know, I love. We have had so much fun together as a family, and I am so grateful my dad worked hard to provide such moments.

My dad is always up for a good time!

He also loves to sit back and enjoy the view, and think deeply.

He likes to kiss my mom, because he loves her, passionately.

He loves to drive. We have been on so many trips together as a family. This is my view during our deep conversations.
 Ahhhh... Disneyland with my dad.

He is a thrill-seeker and up for anything fast and furious.
But he is not too old for the kid rides.
 He loves to play games.
Did I mention he loves my mother?
 More games.
A friendly competition with my brother.
Though he can be serious, he can also be silly.

My kids sure love their grandpa.
Oh, and my dad sure loves my mother. And that is the greatest gift he has given me in this life.
I sure love you, dad! Thanks for being so GREAT! And thank you for providing so much love and joy in my life. The older I get, the more I love you. I am blessed to call you my dad, forever!

Happy Father's Day!
