DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

 * Disclaimer: For some reason blogger likes to distort images ever so slightly, it can make them brighter, or just subtly change colors. It drives me nuts because the subtle color is EVERYTHING with the pictures I take. It also distorts clarity. I never noticed this before, but now I do! They look good enough, I suppose... it will have to do.
I went for a walk with Henry, but it was so COLD! It was freezing, but it was beautiful. I love crystal clear mornings in the winter, it makes everything sparkle.

It was so pretty, the mist was rising from the river.
Henry allowed me to take a few pictures...

But then it was just TOO cold! Our hands turned to ice. (We were ill prepared.)
With a new camera, my perspective on life has changed. I see everything as a photo-op. I also see the beauty in all things -- large and small. I mean, just look at how pretty those cookies are!
My favorite Holiday treat can be found in the local grocery store... feel free to pick some up and drop them off at my doorstep. ;-) wink!

It snowed on Saturday. It was a perfect snow. The kids rans outside at 7:00am to build a snowman. I know it was too early, but when it snows you have to enjoy it here while it lasts! I played Christmas music, and we made hot chocolate for them when they came inside. (Notice the church steeple off to the left . . . I love that we can see it from our house!)
Team work makes the dream work.
They made a REAL snowman! Not bad!
And a little snowball fight ...
 Brothers.
Sammi joined them later, around 9:00. She needs her beauty sleep.
Sammi is pondering the meaning of life... no, she is actually watching a movie while I shove a camera in her face.
Daniel showing me his beautiful eyes.
Henry loves to be outside. I think he would stay out there all day if he could.
He loves to throw rocks -- and pretty much everything.
It is starting to feel like real winter. We have our Christmas decorations out in the garage and ready to be put up sometime this week. The Christmas station started playing on the radio over the weekend. It is beginning to feel more like the Holiday season.

Thanksgiving is next week! Are you ready?? I'm not! Yikes!

  3. So story about Daniel.
I was up there singing (I'm no good) and I told them as such. I said "When I accepted this calling I told them I couldn't sing, but would be more than willing to accept and try"
Daniel pipes up and goes "I think you sing GREAT Sister Nakaya and am happy that you try"
    WHAT A DOLL.
Honestly that kid is going to make some woman EXTREMELY HAPPY.
He's a gem and warms my heart.
