DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Halloween Stuff

Halloween was fun. I like Halloween, but I do not love it. The kids LOVE it though, so we try to make it fun!
We carved our pumpkins on Monday night for Family Home Evening. Normally we are much more into it than we were this year. We kind of went through the motions, but we did not even have candles to light them! How lame is that!
Sammi had to work on homework while we carved. Here she is working on her math homework. She is in all AP classes and so her homework load is INSANE (another blog entirely!) but it takes up A LOT of her afternoon time. Poor thing! She never did get to carve her pumpkin! We chucked out all the pumpkins this morning and it made me a little sad to chuck out her non-carved pumpkin. Junior High is a game-changer, that is for sure!

Here they are helping Peter Pan fly . . .
Cuteness. (And Henry is pretty cute, too. ) :-)
The group of Trick or Treat kiddos . . . nice photobomb by the jogger!
Beautiful girls. Hanna was a real trooper. She had been really sick that morning, but she was determined to enjoy her Halloween! Did I mention Hanna's mom MADE the girls dresses? She is a wonderful women who is a great example of kindness and service. I love their family!
Cool car at Trunk or Treat.
There was even a beautiful rainbow!
 Coolest guy at the party.
Henry enjoying being buried in Rice Krispies. They did not have out traditional long licorice whips at Costco this year! What is up with that? The licorice got us, "You are so awesome!" We were not so awesome this year, not even close. Thanks a lot Costco!
 Missionaries. Cute.
Somebody help! What I am I supposed to do with this??? Seriously, it is scaring me!
Hope you had a great Halloween! I am so glad it is over. I am ready to thoroughly enjoy the holiday season now. I much prefer the season of giving to the holiday of getting!

Let the Christmas music begin!

  1. Dru told me about the storm trooper but I never got to see it. I'm glad you posted that. It's legit isn't it!! That's seriously impressive.
I don't know what do do with all this candy either. It's crazy............seriously.
I feel bad for Sammy being so busy. Hopefully it pays off.
    Happy Halloween.

  2. Just looking at my kids candy makes me want to puke. It lasted way to long last year. Maybe only one time around the trunk or treat next year and only half the neighborhood will do the trick for my kids. The amount of candy is ridiculous. Sorry to kind of push ourselves into your trick or treating this year. Hope your friend didn't mind.
