DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Over the Rainbow

There was a beautiful storm today. Right now there is rain falling, and filling the air with a wonderful, fresh, fragrance. I absolutely love a good thunderstorm. I get all giddy and excited. I will drop everything to rush and see the power of nature, and God.

I needed this storm today. It was exciting, and it made me feel a sense of joy. Earlier in the day I had been praying that my heart might be filled with light. I prayed that God might touch my heart, and make it illuminate to feel free, and full of hope.

As an answer to my prayer, God provided a storm, and a magical double rainbow in the sky. I jumped for joy, and grabbed my camera to capture the moment.  You may think the timing of my prayer and the rainbow is a mere coincidence; but I know better.

I love the words to the song, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Now they have a whole different meaning than they did before. Rainbows were always special for us. They were always a smile of God's approval; as if to tell us we were moving in the right direction.

Today I sure needed a rainbow, so God gave me two.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then oh why can't I?

If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow
Why oh why can't I
?

  1. I love these beautiful pictures, great coloring, serene. We love storms too, we have some fantastic ones here in MN. We stop all we are doing to watch and listen. Have you heard Israel "IZ"'s version of Over the Rainbow? Oh, I love that one too. I love the Hawaiian sound-calming and happy.
