DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Life After Death

I have never thought so much about the Spirit World in all my life. I have not had any real reason to, until now. Sure, I read about it, and pondered about it, and even had some choice experiences with family history work where the veil was made very thin. But now it is REAL for me. It is a real place, with real people -- MY people! Half of my whole walks the streets of that marvelous world, how could I possibly not consider the things of the other side of the veil?

The conversations I have had with my family, friends, and especially my children have been phenomenal. The things I have learned, felt, and experienced could not be known to me in any other way. When my heart allows, somehow I even feel grateful for the things I have felt and learned. How is gratitude possible in death? Through Jesus Christ, our Savior. That's how.

If you want to make a study of Life after Death then go to: www.lds.org and search, "The Spirit World." It is marvelous to read about. The more I learn, the more deeply I feel, well, everything!

A friend of mine sent me this quote that I love, and I thought I should share... read through it carefully and consider what it means to me now!

President Joseph F. Smith: “I believe we move and have our being in the presence of heavenly messengers and of heavenly beings. We are not separate from them. … We are closely related to our kindred, to our ancestors … who have preceded us into the spirit world. We can not forget them; we do not cease to love them; we always hold them in our hearts, in memory, and thus we are associated and united to them by ties that we can not break. … If this is the case with us in our finite condition, surrounded by our mortal weaknesses, … how much more certain it is … to believe that those who have been faithful, who have gone beyond … can see us better than we can see them; that they know us better than we know them. … We live in their presence, they see us, they are solicitous for our welfare, they love us now more than ever. For now they see the dangers that beset us; … their love for us and their desire for our well being must be greater than that which we feel for ourselves.”    Relationships can be strengthened through the veil with people we know and love. That is done by our determined effort to continually do what is right. We can strengthen our relationship with the departed individual we love by recognizing that the separation is temporary and that covenants made in the temple are eternal. When consistently obeyed, such covenants assure the eternal realization of the promises inherent in them."

Charles is watching us closely. He dwells with us still. He is desperately concerned for the welfare of me, and our children. The children pray everyday that Heavenly Father and daddy will protect us. I love it. They also pray that we can feel daddy close to us -- and we do, we really do. Those who have gone on before us are all around us. We can strengthen that bond with them when we are doing what is right, so I had better be a good girl!

My testimony of life after death is certain.

If you doubt, just don't.

P.S. The picture above is so symbolic for me now. I am up on a pedestal, and Charles is holding me up, by hugging me tightly. He is still hugging me tightly, and holding me up now. This is probably my favorite picture of us, ever. It was taken the day we were engaged in Denali, Alaska.

  3. I love the thought of those who are beyond the veil being all around us! It's nice to know we have them helping us along. We are not alone and Heaven is very near. What a blessing that you can feel it in such a real way. :)
