DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

When Life Gives You Nasty Half Bananas...

Make Banana Cookies! I turned the nasty bananas, into these yummy cookies. (Thanks for the recipe, Amy!) For the recipe click: HERE. I went with cookies, because that's what I had the ingredients for. It was kind of fun to bake, I don't do it very often nowadays, because, well, I don't really feel like it. But it was good, and they turned out pretty tasty. We will see what the kids think when they get home from school.

Funny thing is, I think I could have used even more decaying bananas in the cookies, for a more intense sweet flavor. Go figure. Let's see, how can we relate that to life...? The more trials/obstacles you have, the more sweet and yummy life tastes? Wait, what? Yep, it's true!
This is what Henry thought of the cookies... (the picture is fuzzy cause he was eating it so fast!)

Sometimes you just need to take something nasty, and make it something yummy.

I made one person smile today. And that is something!

A Good Reminder: Don't ask, "Why me?" ask, "What now?"

Then get to work to make life a little sweeter.

I love this video... click HERE for mobile devices.

This song has been stuck in my head all day. I love this guy! I love that he is Mormon too. He makes me smile.

  3. Well done! I had sort of the same experience today. I had people coming over for lunch and I tried making brownies in one of my fancy individual serving pans and they stuck! Would not come out in one piece and I had a whole lot of broken brownie pieces. So instead of pulling my hair out I did the "think, think, think" thing and came up with Chocolate, strawberry trifle. Sometimes even stuff that seems all crumby can turn out pretty dang good.
