DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

24 Hours of Peace

Yesterday was great. I felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my mind after finishing the fireside. My day was spent in a state of peace, joy, and a sense of relief. I played Disney games with the kids, and we ate death by chocolate cake for Family Home Evening. (Thanks for the cake Sotto family!) I was just super relaxed. I felt awesome.

I loved every minute of preparation for the fireside -- it was wonderful to have something so good to focus my thoughts and actions on. But there is no doubt about it, it was a workout for my brain and spirit! (Which is not a bad thing!)

When I was all done with the fireside, my spirit felt like it was infused with the same kind of physical endorphins you feel after exercise. Hence the "Happy" dance with ice-cream video.

That feeling lasted a full 24 hours, when the phone rang.

Last night I was asked to speak in 2 weeks, in another ward, with the High Council representative.

I laughed at myself and said, "Yes, I'll do it."

I hung-up the phone, and my brain clamped down on the idea of speaking again. I went into the living room with the kids, and said, "Guess what? I'm speaking again in 2 weeks."

The kids all screamed, "Nooooooooo!" while violently hugging me.

Sammi said, "Well, it was nice knowing you!"

At least I had 24 hours of peace.

P.S. Happy dance video #2 coming in two weeks from now.

  3. I vaguely remember saying something to you last night about word getting out after this fireside and more invitations coming. You are awesome and should just accept the fact that this is only the beginning of invitations. You'll bring the spirit in that meeting, no doubt about it. At least it's on a smaller scale and less time than a fireside right?

  5. too cute Sammi!
Trust me, your Mom will just be an even better Mom than she already is from all the preparations she puts into her talks, lessons, etc. And, as you already know so well...your family will be so blessed for her efforts of sharing her testimony of the gospel. She is an incredible lady!

    love you
