DISCLAIMER

This blog is where I record a limited depiction of my feelings, family, and faith. My blog was recently under intense scrutiny, and so I feel this disclaimer is necessary. I try to tell my story as openly as I can, but this blog represents a cropped and narrow-viewed version of my story -- like all social media -- it is NOT the full story. Many events happen behind the scenes that are not recorded or written about, due to the sensitive nature of others involved. Life has many layers. Many layers can be shared and many cannot, and this blog is simply a layer of my life that I allow others to view, but it is not an accurate depiction of all the layers of my life.

Cling

I found this cute little guy this morning. He made me smile, so I grabbed my camera. The thing I loved the most about him is how he would cling to things. The jar in the picture above was turned upside-down, and he was holding on for dear life. (And sticking his tongue out at me.)

The word "cling" has a few definitions:

  1. Hold on tightly to
  2. Adhere or stick firmly or closely to; be hard to part or remove from
  3. To remain very closely to
  4. Remain persistently or stubbornly faithful to something
  5. Be overly dependent on someone emotionally
  6. To keep believing that something is right or real, even though other people do not
  7. To stay close to someone who is taking care of you, because you need their support

I love the word cling. That is why I chose the words, "Cling to Courage." Sometimes life feels like you are being turned upside-down in a jar, and you have to hold on for dear life! It takes courage to hold on, and not give up, when the forces of nature are pulling against you, trying to drag you down.

Don't let go!

I have a visual in my mind when I think of clinging -- I think of Christ. I just imagine hugging Him tightly, and never letting go. It is through Him -- and only through Him -- that I find my courage to continue when the weight of the world is crushing and intense, and a certain dark someone tries to drag me down.

Jesus will never let go of you… don't let go of him!

Cling tightly to Jesus!

You will find your courage!

Isn't my little green friend adorable? ;-)

P.S. Henry is much better now. Thank you for your prayers! :-)

  4. So glad your little boy is better, I hate when my kids are sick I'm sure it wore you out.
Good luck today with your talk. I haven't met you but I think of you often and marvel at your strength. It is another testament to me of the enabling power of the atonement and how we are never left to fend for ourselves. I know this new road you are traveling is not what any of us would choose but you continue to prove that we can find beauty and happiness if we choose to look for it and cling to God.
You will make it I have no doubt! I'm sure your reunion will be one for the books. Keep going Mari!
